The first batch of 2023 Ceramics is here!

A beautifully rotund Pierrot, complete with a long conical cap and a theatrically large collar. Of the three Pierrot Birbaubles made in this past month, extra sculpting was given to 23.002's collar to provide a starched look with more defined ridges.

This piece is part of the first batch made with Kentucky Mudworks Kota porcelain, which they recommended as a substitute for the discontinued White Lightning porcelain I had been using for the 2022 Tinybirdmen and Birbaubles.

I will continue to experiment with other clay, but in the meantime, Kota has a similar shrinkage and fires to a beautiful creamy white.
